We’re Going to Comic Con!
It’s going to be a big week for us.
In case you haven’t heard, Andy and I (With the illustrious Jeff Turner in Tow) are headed to San Diego this weekend for the annual geek love fest that is the San Diego Comic Con and holy man am I excited!
As a giant geek, I’ve been going to SDCC for nearly two decades. And as a giant packrat, I’ve been holding onto those badges ever since.
And while I may have slowed down when it comes to the big trek, not a year goes by that I don’t think about how much I love it down there. Like film festivals are great for meeting like minded people, but brother, it’s got nothing on being in the sea of nerddom that is SDCC. Anytime I get to flex my deep Marvel Comics knowledge and not be treated like a crazy person is a great time in my book.
So to go this year – as a professional no less! – to pimp out my own feature film is my childhood dream come true! (Well, technically speaking, when I was 14 I wanted to write comics, so this is like dream come true adjacent, but whatever) I am so stoked!
Big thanks to the fine folks over at our distribution company, Indican Pictures, for giving us a nice cozy spot in their booth for the weekend. And not to mention the prime times to garner a crowd! So let’s do it right and start getting the buzz going!
We’ll be rocking the convention floor Saturday and Sunday at booth 4136 with some sweet giveaways and good times. Also, we’ll have a few special guests stop by to give you extra reasons to come stop by.
On Saturday, Doug Jones will take some time out of his crazy busy schedule to sign and be awesome between 11 and 12.
Later, on Sunday, Paula Rhodes will be stopping by to do the same around the same time between 12 and 1.
They are two of the most fantastic people on the planet and you should most definitely make it a point to come say hi to ‘em.
As if that wasn’t enough, we’ll also have, on both days, some friends running around, causing a ruckus donned in outfits that would make our defacto mascot Uncle Slavko proud. It will be a glorious thing to behold.
And of course, Andy and myself will be hanging at the booth for the weekend if you want to come up and say hi. I promise I won’t bite, but I can’t make the same promise for Andy.
It’s going to be something special and we can’t wait to get out there to spread the gospel of Love in the Time of Monsters.
Or, you know, just come stop by the booth and ask us what’s happening. Andy and I can probably fumble through an answer or two for you in person.
Hope to see you at the show!
